Class: Seyfert galaxy Constellation: Cet Data: mag 8,8 size 7,1' x 6,0' Position: RA 2h:43m DEC -00?:01' Description: An easy deal, even in a polluted sky. Easy to find at low powers as a small, nebulous object very near of a 9th-magnitude star in the tip of an arrow-like asterism, looking as a kind of double star. Increasing power (M77 withstands magnification quite well), one can see a fuzzy patch that seems to be slightly elongated N-S. A starlike nucleus can also be seen using averted vision. -- ** This observing log was submitted via the IAAC Web form: www.visualdeepsky.org/enter-log.html From anonymous at s15272250.onlinehome-server.com Wed Oct 21 14:08:53 2009 From: anonymous at s15272250.onlinehome-server.com (anonymous at s15272250.onlinehome-server.com) Date: Wed, 21 Oct 2009 18:08:53 -0000 Subject: Obj: M42-Nebulosa de Orión- - Inst: binoculars 20x50 Super Zenith Message-ID: <20090706183404.28215.qmail@s15272250.onlinehome-server.com> ---- Observation Poster: Francisco Observer: Francisco Your skills: Intermedio (varios a??os) Date/time of observation: 22:43 Location of site: Valencia (Lat 39'27, Elev 22 meters) Site classification: Urbano Sky darkness: 2.9-3.1 Seeing: 4 Moon presence: Ninguna - la luna en el cielo no Instrument: binoculars 20x50 Super Zenith Magnification: Filter(s): Object(s): M42-Nebulosa de Ori??n- Category: Otro. Expect likely service interruptions during this period: if you wish to post to either of the lists during this period (e.g., a deep sky observing log!), please be sure to save a copy of your post in case it must be resent later. Thanks as always for your interest in the Internet Amateur Astronomers Catalog, and your patience during this transition. Clear skies to all! However, this means we ARE likely to experience interruptions in our service over the next 24 to 72 hours. Please be patient - and again, if you try to post to our lists (e.g., an observing log), please SAVE YOUR POST in case you need to retry again. Clear skies to all, Lew Gramer owner at visualdeepsky.org
