Class: moderate to dense Constellation: Carina Data: mag 3.8 size 30' Position: RA 7h:.8974 DEC -60:48.069 Description: This cluster really impressed me. It was an easy size to find from moderately light polluted skies and is a good size (about the size of a full moon). I'd say this cluster has around 50 - 100 stars inside it but my moderate light pollution could be coming into play here, there could be more stars. I'd really like to see this object through a telescope sometime. There also appears to be some red giants inside it. Worth a look. Somewhat surprised I could see it at all with the severe light pollution and with these little binoculars, but being close to zenith helped. Was somewhat difficult to find, but once found was verified by its position between two modestly bright stars. -- ** This observing log was submitted via the IAAC Web form: www.visualdeepsky.org/enter-log.html
