Class: Constellation: Aql Data: mag 12.2 size ~1.0' X 1.0' Position: RA 20:28 DEC -03:05 Description: A faint, uniform, round, to slightly oval halo. It shows slight, gradual, diffuse brightening toward the core. Steadily visible with averted vision at 133x, it was best seen at 200x. The galaxy is located just to the E. of an irregular semicircle of 11th-13th magnitude stars which curve to the W. and are aligned nearly N-S.. -- Optional related URLs: ** This observing log automatically submitted via the Web from: http://www.visualdeepsky.org/enter-log.html From anonymous at sedna.atmob.org Wed Sep 5 17:54:39 2007 From: anonymous at sedna.atmob.org (anonymous at sedna.atmob.org) Date: 5 Sep 2007 17:54:39 -0400 Subject: (IAAC) Obj: NGC 7217 - Inst: 10" f/4.7 Newtonian reflector Message-ID: <20070905215439.10995.qmail@sedna.atmob.org> ---- Observation Poster: Brent Reary Observer: Brent Reary Your skills: Intermediate (some years) Date/time of observation: 9/03/07 03:00 UT Location of site: Rolla, MO USA (Lat 37 57'N, Elev ) Site classification: Rural Sky darkness: 6.5 Seeing: 6-7 <1-10 Seeing Scale (10 best)> Moon presence: None - moon not in sky Instrument: 10" f/4.7 Newtonian reflector Magnification: 38x - 267x Filter(s): None Object(s): NGC 7217 Category: External galaxy. It was at the edge of eyepiece view when M11 was in centre. At 34x through my 8-inch reflector, it appeared very faint and unresolvable. At 160x I saw a small triangle at the cluster's centre. I think this cluster can be best observable far from city lights. -- Optional related URLs: ** This observing log automatically submitted via the Web from: http://www.visualdeepsky.org/enter-log.html From anonymous at sedna.atmob.org Thu Sep 13 23:44:16 2007 From: anonymous at sedna.atmob.org (anonymous at sedna.atmob.org) Date: 13 Sep 2007 23:44:16 -0400 Subject: (IAAC) Obj: NGC 7265 - Inst: 10" f/4.7 Newtonian reflector Message-ID: <20070914034416.20925.qmail@sedna.atmob.org> ---- Observation Poster: Brent Reary Observer: Brent Reary Your skills: Intermediate (some years) Date/time of observation: 9/12/07 02:50 UT Location of site: Rolla, MO USA (Lat 37 57'N, Elev ) Site classification: Rural Sky darkness: 6.0 Seeing: 6 <1-10 Seeing Scale (10 best)> Moon presence: None - moon not in sky Instrument: 10" f/4.7 Newtonian reflector Magnification: 133x, 200x, 267x Filter(s): None Object(s): NGC 7265 Category: External galaxy.
