Class: Constellation: Pup Data: mag 11.8p size 82" Position: RA 07h:15m DEC -46: Description: Extremely faint, round patch of light in the OIII filter at 131x. Almost uniform brightness with hints of a central darkening. No CS visible. No colors can be distinguished. 2 faint stars are located closely to the edge of the PN. -- Optional related URLs: ** This observing log automatically submitted via the Web from: http://www.visualdeepsky.org/enter-log.html From anonymous at sedna.atmob.org Tue Jun 19 08:50:56 2007 From: anonymous at sedna.atmob.org (anonymous at sedna.atmob.org) Date: 19 Jun 2007 08:50:56 -0400 Subject: (IAAC) Obj: PK290.5+7.9, FG 1 - Inst: 15" Obsession f4,5 Message-ID: <20070619125056.18404.qmail@sedna.atmob.org> ---- Observation Poster: Armin Hermann Observer: Armin Hermann Your skills: Advanced (many years) Date/time of observation: 16 04 07 Location of site: Sangkhlaburi, Thailand (Lat +15, Elev 200m) Site classification: Rural Sky darkness: 9 <1-10 Scale (10 best)> Seeing: 8 <1-10 Seeing Scale (10 best)> Moon presence: None - moon not in sky Instrument: 15" Obsession f4,5 Magnification: 342x Filter(s): O III Object(s): PK290.5+7.9, FG 1 Category: Planetary nebula. Class: Constellation: Cen Data: mag 11.4 size 49" Position: RA 11h:29m DEC -53: Description: Modestly bright disk without color of ~25" diameter at 342x. The edge is fading away but otherwise the disk shows uniform brightness, maybe with a hint of a brighter W-edge. The central star is easily visible at 342x. Interestingly there is no CS mentioned in the Uranometria description. Observation with OIII does not improve visiblility of the object but rather makes it a more difficult target! Interesting object. It would also be interesting, if other observers were able to see the CS. -- Optional related URLs: ** This observing log automatically submitted via the Web from: http://www.visualdeepsky.org/enter-log.html From anonymous at sedna.atmob.org Tue Jun 26 03:51:40 2007 From: anonymous at sedna.atmob.org (anonymous at sedna.atmob.org) Date: 26 Jun 2007 03:51:40 -0400 Subject: (IAAC) Obj: NGC 5897 - Inst: 12cm, Refrectore, f/5 Message-ID: <20070626075140.30727.qmail@sedna.atmob.org> ---- Observation Poster: Kazem Kookaram Observer: Kazem Kookaram Your skills: Advanced (many years) Date/time of observation: 14/06/07 Location of site: Firoozkooh Road (Lat 35.5, Elev 1700) Site classification: Rural Sky darkness: 5.7 Seeing: 6 <1-10 Seeing Scale (10 best)> Moon presence: None - moon not in sky Instrument: 12cm, Refrectore, f/5 Magnification: 24 Filter(s): none Object(s): NGC 5897 Category: Globular cluster.
